About Futuresmart Africa NPC
“Be the change for neurodiverse learners!”
“What if the only thing standing between a neurodiverse child and their future… was your support?”
What we do
Futuresmart Africa NPC is a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding access to specialised, inclusive education for neurodiverse learners in South Africa.
Through its support of Edusmart Academy, Futuresmart Academy, and Edusmart College, the NPC helps create structured, supportive learning environments within communities for learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, developmental delays, and other barriers to learning / silent disabilities. These schools are situated in the community in Strand, Western Cape, RSA.
The schools support learners in the Helderberg, Grabouw, Stellenbosch and Somerset West areas who cannot be accommodated in the mainstream. As we enter the 2026 financial year, the need for specialised support continues to grow. Every year, we meet families whose children have struggled in traditional school settings and who arrive at our doors seeking understanding, stability, and hope.
While we celebrate the progress made since 2019, we recognise that our responsibility has grown with our impact. To continue providing the level of care, education, therapy, and emotional support our learners require, we are seeking committed partners who can help us sustain and expand the services that change lives every day.

We empower our learners for the future
Futuresmart Africa NPC is able to issue Section 18A tax-deductible certificates for qualifying donations. This allows donors and businesses to receive tax benefits while making a direct and meaningful contribution to inclusive education.
This makes a partnership with Futuresmart Africa NPC both a socially responsible and financially beneficial opportunity for donors.
It started with a dream…
Futuresmart Africa NPC serves as the funding and development arm supporting a growing network of specialised schools in the Helderberg region of the Western Cape:
Edusmart Academy:
A remedial and inclusive primary school offering CAPS-aligned education for learners with ADHD, dyslexia, neurodevelopmental challenges, and other barriers to learning. Established in 2019, and supporting 90 learners between the ages of 6 and 13.
Futuresmart Academy (LSEN School):
A specialised, autism-focused school providing structured routines, sensory-aware classrooms, emotional regulation support, and individualised developmental goals. Established in 2022, and supporting 60 learners between the ages of 6 and 15.
Edusmart College:
A neurodiverse high school pathway that includes online learning options, created to address the gap many learners face – once they move beyond primary school. Edusmart College additionally offers face-to-face learning in the CAPS Curriculum for grades 8 & 9.
Established in 2026 and currently supporting 35 learners, between the ages of 13 and 21.
Together, these schools provide a much-needed educational pathway for learners who may not cope, thrive, or feel understood in mainstream schooling environments.
The role of Futuresmart Africa NPC:
Futuresmart Africa NPC exists to ensure that financial limitations, facility needs, and access to specialist support do not prevent learners from receiving the education and care they deserve.
